MEMENTO

First performance of the project EFFIMERIA (2014 – 2018) which established the long-term thematic projects method of BILOURA. Throughout the project, artistic exchanges, residencies and cultural activities are organised and several smaller performances are showed to the public. At the end of the project, the production of a final performance is tackled, and it is suitable for touring, bringing the artistic research to the outside world.

MEMENTO is a reflection on grieving.
As mute as its objects, made by gestures,
it celebrates life moving forward.

The protagonists have no names, no age, no history: they could be anyone. There is nothing to know about them. They just are. They speak in the silence surrounding the taboo of death, and of life, also revealing moments of joy and paradox. They open a window to landscapes where death is less frightening because we allow ourselves to dialogue with it
