POLIMORFA Festival of Performing Arts in Valchiusella edition 2025
If we look back, we still can't believe that we are celebration the 5th edition of POLIMORFA: it seems like only yesterday that this snail took its first flight over the Valchiusella, enriching our territory with art, a moment after the harsh seclusion of the pandemic. After five years, we can only be happy with the results achieved. More and more artists have come to know our audience, which has proved to be affectionate and warmhearted. The network of solidarity around the Festival, which has always been organised with the support of the Municipality of Val di Chy and the collaboration of Piemonte dal Vivo, has enabled us to realise many dreams: something that is by no means taken for granted in these times. And it is precisely the times we live in that lead us to inaugurate a 5th edition under the banner of freedom of expression, in an attempt to open up the performing arts to stories normally silenced by the strong powers or metaphysical prisons, and which prevent the visibility of social and artistic projects that are invaluable to our threattened democracies. This year we will try to break through the walls that censor, the seemingly innocuous visions that instead exclude and stigmatise and tackle the widespread tendency to downplay the profound creative and productive vitality of female artists. And as always, at the heart of the festival will be the inhabitants of Valchiusella, who this year will collaborate with a major international theatre for the annual participatory performance: an opportunity for exchange, poetry and celebration. These are the ingredients of this edition, the closing of a five-year period that proves that believing in one's dreams is a challenge, of course, but it is also indispensable, vital and... When dreams are shared, anything is possible, even that snails fly.

WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT
by NASSIM SOLEIMANPOUR / 369GRADI
Prose — Thursday 24th April 2025, 8:30pm
WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT is a play written by the Iranian Nassim Soleimanpour in 2010, at the age of 29, at a time when he had no possibility of communicating with outsiders in his country. It is first and foremost the realised dream of an impossible dialogue, a theatrical play against all censorship and all geographical and cultural distance, a close encounter that leaves deep traces, because it puts author, actor and spectator on the same emotional plane. The actress - Chiara Bosco of BILOURA - will perform it for one time only, without direction, without rehearsals and without ever having seen it before: she will open the sealed envelope containing the text on stage and share its contents with the audience, bringing courage, irony and intelligence.

Participatory Performance — Sunday 4th May 2025, 4:00pm
A special event born from the collaboration between KVS Brussels and BILOURA Collective, who together with the local community, the choir Terra dei Canti and the dance troupe BAOBAB, bring to the stage a contemporary reflection on the story of Hannibal. After crossing five cities between Senegal, Rotterdam and Paris, the show arrives in Valchiusella for a unique experience made of live music, dance, slam and theatre. Hannibal rereads the Punic Wars as a metaphor for today's conflicts, questioning the confrontation between tradition and modernity starting from the opera Dido and Aeneas, explores the historical roots of the tensions between Europe and North Africa, and transforms public space into an arena for dialogue and vision on the future of Europe.

CI CONTIAMO PER CANTARE
by CANTA FINO A DIECI
Concert — Friday 9th May 2025, 8.30pm
Canta Fino a Dieci is a collective of female singer-songwriters united in the effort to assert a space for women in the music scene: an action as simple as counting reveals how the female presence in music events is significantly lower than that of men. If music does not want to loose half its reach, it is necessary to unite and access stages without distinction of gender. The collective was born in 2021 in Turin, from the meeting of 5 female singer-songwriters (Anna Castiglia, Cheriach Re, Francamente, Irene Buselli, Rossana De Pace) from 5 different cities, who have been sharing stages and values ever since. Being together on stage is a metaphor for the collective, whose intentions are of sharing and representation: the songs of each are sung in several voices and the instruments pass from hand to hand, making music an instrument of union and resonance.

DI CHE FAMIGLIA SEI?

Theatre for Families — Sunday 11th May 2025, 4.00pm
Martina and Piero have different families, which is why they are on two different sides of the wall. Martina is on the ‘other’
side, her side of the wall is coloured, but one colour is missing: blue. Piero is on the all-blue side of the wall, together with the ‘only blue’ families who (from a distance) all look the same
as his. With the excuse of a ball that accidentally flies over the wall, Martina and Piero, two children destined never to meet, two unwitting heroes, ignite - thanks to their curiosity and their
desire to get to know each other - the spark of a great little revolution. Even their families, apparently different, will turn out to be very similar, with love, respect and support at their
core.

Prose — Friday 16th May 2025, 8.30pm
The protagonist of the play is Chelsea Elisabeth Manning, the soldier who made the United States tremble for revealing classified information to Wikileaks: the person who made Julian Assange famous, giving rise to the biggest leak of secret information that has ever happened to the United States. He thus became a contemporary Antigone, a person who preferred to follow the laws of the heart to let everyone know the truth about what he was experiencing as a military, intelligence analyst, in Iraq, in the middle of the war. Manning served seven years in prison in the United States for passing classified information to Wikileaks. In prison, hed decided to change sex and, since her release, has been pursuing her fight for freedom of information and has become an icon of freedom and soical responsability.

OPEN STAGE + PICCOLO GRANDE CABARET
by VARIOUS SURPRISE ARTISTS / BUZZI, DELL’UOMO, VERGARI
Clownerie — Sunday 18th May 2025, 5.00pm
The reknown classic appointment of POLIMORFA, the open stage of free content, welcoming anyone who has the desire and the urge to perform in public with original creations, is back. A collective feast culminating with the show PICCOLO GRANDE CABARET, SERENO VARIABILE: the smallest because ‘only’ three women on stage will be able to make people jump out of their chairs with laughter; the biggest because these three women will split into two to distort every view of things; the most serene because it guarantees the best time you will ever have invested... at least in the last week; the most extremely Variable, because between floral tributes, tangles of cables and rivers of chips, you will never know what will happen.
